What is the name of Chinese language? Mandarin or Chinese?

The Chinese language, with a variety of dialects and numerous accents, all bear different names.  It is known as  “Zhōng wén(中文)”(Chinese language) or “Zhōng guó huà(中国话)” (China language) internationally.  It is sometimes referred as “Hàn yǔ(汉语)” (Han language).  Mandarin, which adopts “Beijing pronunciation as the standard sounds; the ‘Northern Dialect’ and the modern Chinese classic literary works written in the vernacular as its grammatical models ”, is known as “Pǔ tōng huà(普通话)” (common language) in Mainland China, “Guó yǔ(国语)” (national language) in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and “Huá yǔ(华语)” (Chinese language) in Southeast Asia.
